Why dive here
With 263+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue-spotted stingrays, dugongs, giant moray eels, seahorses and sea turtles - TAKARI 3 offers some of Southern Islands's richest wreck diving. Water ranges 28-31°C, warmest May, June, November.
The TAKARI 3 is one of Singapore’s deeper wrecks, resting at 31 metres. This Indonesian vessel went down in 1977 after a mishap while under tow. We find the wreck itself largely intact, an interesting exploration with visible structural details from its time as a working ship. Over the years, it’s become home to a good variety of reef fish and invertebrates, blending the history of the wreck with the steady pulse of marine life. It’s a site best suited for experienced divers comfortable with depth and perhaps a bit of current, offering a tangible piece of maritime history within Singapore’s busy waters.
