Why dive here
With 173+ marine species recorded in the area - including blacktip reef sharks, eagle rays, giant moray eels, whale sharks and clownfish - Karon Beach offers some of Similan Islands's richest diving. Water ranges 29-31°C, warmest April, May, June.
Karon Beach is a gentle shore dive right off the sand in the Similan Islands. The slope is mild, making it a good spot for buoyancy practice or check dives. You'll find the usual reef fish here: parrotfish, damselfish, and a few anemones with their resident clownfish. It's a relaxed, easy dive, probably best for newer divers or those looking for a quiet afternoon dip.
