Why dive here
With 173+ marine species recorded in the area - including blacktip reef sharks, eagle rays, giant moray eels, whale sharks and clownfish - Ko Tachai offers some of Similan Islands's richest diving. Water ranges 29-31°C, warmest April, May, June.
Ko Tachai, in the Similan Islands, is a site we’ve always associated with leopard sharks and giant trevally patrolling the deeper waters. The main draw is a large pinnacle, dropping away into the blue. We've often found conditions here can be variable, with strong currents a real possibility, making it a better fit for experienced divers. Visibility can be excellent, though, revealing dense schools of snapper and fusiliers.
