Malong - Similan Islands

Malong, or "Elephant Head Rock" if you like to translate, is a classic Similan dive. We often drop here for a second dive of the day, when the light starts to soften a bit. It’s mostly about the granite boulders that rise from the sand, creating swim-throughs and overhangs draped with soft corals. You’ll find plenty of butterflyfish and wrasse flitting about, and we’ve spotted blacktip reef sharks cruising the deeper sections a few times. It's a relaxed dive, good for photographers who want to get close to the macro life tucked into the crevices, or just for enjoying the unique topography.
