With 173+ marine species recorded in the area - including blacktip reef sharks, eagle rays, giant moray eels, whale sharks and clownfish - Maritus Rock offers some of Similan Islands's richest pinnacle diving. Water ranges 29-31°C, warmest April, May, June.
Maritus Rock is a series of large granite boulders, typical of the Similans, with swim-throughs and small caves to explore. Keep an eye out for resident leopard sharks resting on the sandy bottom and schools of snapper darting around the rocks. It’s a good spot for divers looking for a relaxed multi-level dive with interesting topography, often with mild to moderate currents. We've often found it less crowded than some of its neighbours, which is always a bonus.
