With 173+ marine species recorded in the area - including blacktip reef sharks, eagle rays, giant moray eels, whale sharks and clownfish - Racha Yai, Homerun Reef offers some of Similan Islands's richest reef diving. Water ranges 29-31°C, warmest April, May, June.
Homerun Reef at Racha Yai is a gentle introduction to diving around the Similans, particularly if you’re still getting comfortable in the water. It’s a shallow spot, topping out around 17 meters, which means plenty of light penetrates down to the sandy bottom. We often see juvenile reef fish here, like parrotfish and triggerfish flitting amongst the coral patches, and the occasional blue-spotted stingray buried in the sand. Currents are usually pretty mild, making it a good choice for newer divers or those who just want a relaxed, easy dive.
