Western Rocky - Similan Islands

Western Rocky marks the southernmost point of the Mergui Archipelago, a spot that often feels like a cross between a rock garden and a deep exploration. It’s a small, barren island, maybe sixty metres across, with a couple of smaller islets nearby. What we really come for are the walls and pinnacles, and that impressive swim-through right through the island's centre. Keep an eye out for nudibranchs tucked into crevices; we've even heard tales of whale sharks making an appearance here, though we didn't get so lucky on our last trip. It’s a dive for those who enjoy dramatic rock formations and the hunt for macro life, often with a decent current pushing you along.
