Llewellyn Reef in the Coral Sea is a substantial coral reef, though it doesn't always make the headlines. It’s got all the usual suspects you’d expect out here: reef sharks cruising the edges, good sized groupers holding court in crevices, and plenty of schooling fish. It’s a solid dive for those who appreciate the vastness of the Coral Sea, perhaps on a longer liveaboard trip, rather than a specific species hunt. If you’re into big reef systems with reliable, rather than surprising, encounters, you’ll find it’s a decent enough stop.
