With 113+ marine species recorded in the area - including dugongs, grey reef sharks, humpback whales, sea turtles and tiger sharks - Passage Patch offers some of Coral Sea's richest reef diving. Water ranges 25-30°C, warmest January, February, March.
Passage Patch offers a solid Coral Sea reef dive, typical of the region's outer formations. You'll find good hard coral coverage, plenty of reef fish, and a decent chance of seeing pelagics cruise by in the blue. It’s a good option for divers comfortable with open ocean conditions, offering reliable, uncrowded exploration. We've always found it a dependable dive when weather allows.
