Why dive here
With 113+ marine species recorded in the area - including dugongs, grey reef sharks, humpback whales, sea turtles and tiger sharks - Triangle Reef offers some of Coral Sea's richest reef diving. Water ranges 25-30°C, warmest January, February, March.
Triangle Reef in Australia's Coral Sea offers a classic outer reef dive. We've seen a good mix of pelagic action here, with reef sharks often cruising the wall and the occasional manta ray gliding past. It's a spot for experienced divers comfortable with potential currents and open ocean exposure, not really a beginner's site. Expect healthy hard corals and plenty of schooling fish.
