With 154+ marine species recorded in the area - including hammerhead sharks, sea turtles, tiger sharks and napoleon wrasse - Lagoon Reef offers some of Great Barrier Reef's richest reef diving. Water ranges 24-30°C, warmest January, February, March.
Lagoon Reef offers a gentle introduction to the Great Barrier Reef's inner sections. We've seen a good mix of smaller reef fish here, along with the occasional green turtle cruising by. It’s a shallow, sheltered spot, making it ideal for newer divers or anyone looking for a relaxed, easy dive without strong currents. Expect healthy, sprawling coral patches rather than dramatic drop-offs.
