With 154+ marine species recorded in the area - including hammerhead sharks, sea turtles, tiger sharks and napoleon wrasse - Linnet Reef offers some of Great Barrier Reef's richest reef diving. Water ranges 24-30°C, warmest January, February, March.
Linnet Reef offers a good cross-section of Great Barrier Reef coral, with plenty of bommies scattered across a sandy bottom. We often find reef sharks patrolling the edges and a healthy population of anemonefish in the shallows. It’s a solid pick for divers looking for typical GBR reef ecology without too much current.
