Maori Reef
Why dive here
With 154+ marine species recorded in the area - including hammerhead sharks, sea turtles, tiger sharks and napoleon wrasse - Maori Reef offers some of Great Barrier Reef's richest reef diving. Water ranges 24-30°C, warmest January, February, March.
Maori Reef gives you a good cross-section of what the Great Barrier Reef is all about. You’ll find healthy hard corals mixed with some softer varieties, attracting the usual suspects like parrotfish and anemonefish. It’s a solid, straightforward dive that’s generally suitable for most experience levels, especially if you’re looking for a relaxed exploration rather than anything too dramatic. We’d say it's a dependable choice for a classic reef experience.
