With 154+ marine species recorded in the area - including hammerhead sharks, sea turtles, tiger sharks and napoleon wrasse - Murray Reefs offers some of Great Barrier Reef's richest reef diving. Water ranges 24-30°C, warmest January, February, March.
The Murray Reefs offer a solid Great Barrier Reef experience, showcasing healthy hard coral formations and a good representation of common reef fish. We've often spotted white-tip reef sharks cruising the edges, along with schools of snapper and sweetlips sheltering in the overhangs. It's generally a calm dive, making it a good choice for divers wanting a relaxed exploration without strong currents.
