With 154+ marine species recorded in the area - including hammerhead sharks, sea turtles, tiger sharks and napoleon wrasse - Myrmidon Reef offers some of Great Barrier Reef's richest reef diving. Water ranges 24-30°C, warmest January, February, March.
Myrmidon Reef offers a solid Great Barrier Reef experience, often visited by liveaboards on their way to the Coral Sea. We’ve found decent hard coral formations here, with plenty of reef fish like parrotfish and triggerfish going about their business. Visibility tends to be reliable, usually around 20 metres, making it a good spot for some relaxed reef exploration, particularly for those looking for less intense dives between deeper adventures.
