With 154+ marine species recorded in the area - including hammerhead sharks, sea turtles, tiger sharks and napoleon wrasse - Osterlund Reef offers some of Great Barrier Reef's richest reef diving. Water ranges 24-30°C, warmest January, February, March.
Osterlund Reef is a solid coral reef dive within the Great Barrier Reef system. You'll typically find a good representation of the usual suspects here – parrotfish munching on coral, maybe a turtle cruising past, and plenty of anemonefish in their homes. It's a decent spot for a relaxed dive, suitable for most experience levels looking to simply enjoy a classic GBR reef without any major thrills or challenges.
