With 154+ marine species recorded in the area - including hammerhead sharks, sea turtles, tiger sharks and napoleon wrasse - Tijou Reef offers some of Great Barrier Reef's richest reef diving. Water ranges 24-30°C, warmest January, February, March.
Tijou Reef offers a solid Great Barrier Reef experience, with sprawling coral formations that make for some interesting swim-throughs. You’ll find the usual suspects here: reef sharks cruising the edges and plenty of parrotfish munching away. It's a good spot for divers looking for a classic GBR dive without anything too challenging.
