Dive Centre Bondi might have ‘Bondi’ in the name, but their Lord Howe Island operation is the one we head for when we’re chasing something a bit different. They’re PADI through and through, running courses from Open Water up, which makes them a solid choice if you want to get certified or refresh your skills in a less hectic environment than the mainland. We'd suggest them particularly for divers keen to explore the local spots, like the wreck of the SS Comet or the Admiralty Islets, without the hassle of bringing all your own kit. They’ve got rentals ready, taking some of the stress out of flying to the island.
