With 199+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, bull sharks, dolphins, dugongs and great white sharks - Big Seal Rock - The Cavern offers some of Sydney & New South Wales's richest cave diving. Water ranges 18-23°C, warmest January, February, March.
Big Seal Rock's Cavern is a simple cave dive, more of an overhang really, where you can often spot grey nurse sharks resting inside. It’s a good spot if you’re looking for a protected swim through and a chance to see some larger animals without going too deep. Currents can pick up outside the entry, so check conditions before you drop in.
