With 199+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, bull sharks, dolphins, dugongs and great white sharks - Bird Rock offers some of Sydney & New South Wales's richest diving. Water ranges 18-23°C, warmest January, February, March.
Bird Rock, near Sydney, offers a solid shore dive when conditions are right. We've found the rock formations create interesting swim-throughs and overhangs, often sheltering wobbegongs and the occasional Port Jackson shark. It's a good spot for a relaxed exploratory dive, particularly appealing to those who enjoy close-up macro photography and aren't chasing pelagics. The site's convenience makes it a popular local choice.
