With 199+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, bull sharks, dolphins, dugongs and great white sharks - Black Rock offers some of Sydney & New South Wales's richest reef diving. Water ranges 18-23°C, warmest January, February, March.
Black Rock, just off the coast, is a straightforward shore dive. We usually find it’s a good spot for a relaxed explore, with plenty of cracks and crevices in the rocky reef to peek into. Look for wobbegongs tucked under ledges and schooling yellowtail kingfish passing through. It’s a solid choice for a casual afternoon dive when you want something close to shore.
