With 199+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, bull sharks, dolphins, dugongs and great white sharks - Idol Bay offers some of Sydney & New South Wales's richest reef diving. Water ranges 18-23°C, warmest January, February, March.
Idol Bay offers a straightforward shore dive, popular with local dive schools for training and for those looking for an easy entry. The sandy bottom gradually slopes, reaching around 10 to 12 metres, with scattered rocks and small patches of seagrass. You’ll usually spot wobbegong sharks tucked under ledges and plenty of nudibranchs if you look closely. It's a calm spot, ideal for new divers or a relaxed afternoon dip.
