SS Macleay Wreck - Sydney & New South Wales

The SS Macleay wreck, resting off the New South Wales coast, offers a solid dive for those keen on some history. We found her in about 30 metres, a good depth for experienced divers, though strong currents can make the descent a bit of a workout sometimes. She’s broken up, but you can still make out the bow and stern sections, home now to schooling yellowtail and some surprisingly large wobbegongs tucked into crevices. It's not a grand ship to penetrate, more of an explore-around-the-edges kind of dive, perfect for a relaxed afternoon. The structure attracts plenty of colourful nudibranchs too, if you take your time to look.
