SS Oakland Wreck - Sydney & New South Wales

The SS Oakland, an old steam collier, settled on the seabed near Sydney Heads back in 1903 after a collision. Now, she’s a solid wreck dive for those who don’t mind a bit of a current. We found her broken into several pieces, spread out, which means plenty of nooks for moray eels and wobbegongs to hide. You’ll weave through the scattered sections of hull and machinery, observing schools of yellowtail scad darting in and out. It’s a rewarding dive for experienced wreck enthusiasts, offering a glimpse into Sydney’s maritime past and the sea’s reclamation of it.
