SS Satara - Sydney & New South Wales

The SS Satara, lying just offshore from Sydney, is a decent dive if you’re looking for a wreck that’s been thoroughly embraced by the local marine life. We’ve found her to be quite broken up, but that just means more nooks and crannies for the resident wobbegongs and the occasional sleepy Port Jackson shark to settle into. Schools of yellowtail scad often swirl around the larger sections, and the rusted metalwork provides plenty of shelter for smaller reef fish. It’s a good choice for divers who appreciate the skeletal beauty of a sunken ship and don’t mind getting up close to some impressive critters.
