Titan Crane - Sydney & New South Wales

Okay, let's talk about the Titan Crane. This isn't your typical coral reef dive, that's for sure. It’s a massive, industrial skeleton resting on the seabed, a stark contrast to the natural world around it. We love the sheer scale of the thing – it's like an underwater construction site, frozen in time. Dropping down, the crane materialises from the blue, its huge girders draped in colourful sponges and anemones. Schools of yellowtail scad dart between the beams, and we've often seen grey nurse sharks cruising around the deeper sections. Exploring the nooks and crannies, you’ll spot moray eels peeking out, and we always keep an eye out for resident wobbegongs tucked into the structure. It’s a fantastic dive for photographers who appreciate dramatic, man-made structures and the way marine life adapts to them. Visibility can be a bit hit or miss, so pick a day with lighter winds, especially southerlies, for the best chance of a clearer dive.
