Elephant Point, tucked away at the Poor Knights, offers a gentle introduction to these famed islands. We typically drop to around 19 meters, finding ourselves amongst large kelp forests swaying with the subtle surge. Keep an eye out for inquisitive snapper peering from the fronds and the occasional blue maomao school zipping past. It’s a comfortable dive, perfect for newer divers getting their fins wet in the reserve, or for anyone wanting a relaxed hour underwater without battling strong currents.
