Labrid Channel Poor Knights - Poor Knights Islands

Msumbiji, a name that still makes us wonder about its origins, is a decent shallow dive on Mafia. We’ve found the max depth here around 15m, with visibility often hovering around 9m. It’s primarily a coral and rock reef, a series of formations sloping from about 3m down. We’ve spotted marbled parrotfish browsing the corals, and sometimes dusky sharks cruise by in the blue. The real draw for us, and why we’d suggest it, particularly for macro fans, is the consistent presence of nudibranchs and the resident ribbon eels. We think it’s a good call for a relaxed second dive or a night dive, especially if you enjoy searching out smaller creatures.
