CORAL REEF II - Abaco
Coral Reef II is a proper dive, a bit deeper than its neighbour and a different vibe entirely. This isn't some pristine, intact vessel; she's been down since '69, a fishing boat that’s now a skeletal frame at 25m. We love how the wreck has blended into the reef, almost like it was always meant to be part of the seabed. You’ll find big tarpon lurking in the shadows, their scales glinting, and schools of snapper moving in unison through what's left of the hull. Our favourite part is exploring the remnants of the engine room, feeling the cool current pull you gently as you peek inside. The hard corals have really taken hold here, covering plates of steel that once housed machinery. It's a great spot for advanced divers who appreciate a wreck that feels more like a living reef than a museum piece. Look out for the resident green moray eel; he’s usually tucked away near the bow. We’d suggest going in the late morning when the sun’s high, really bringing out the colour in the corals.
