Pura Vida Divers - Abaco
The team at Pura Vida Divers are just good people, plain and simple. We love their energy, especially when you’re kitting up on the boat – that buzzing anticipation before the first giant stride. They really shine on the smaller, more intimate trips, which is where we think Abaco’s diving really comes into its own. We’d suggest you skip the bigger group dives and go for one of their private charters if you can swing it; you get to dictate the pace and pick your spots, which is a game-changer when you want to linger with a turtle or really scout a particular coral head. Our favourite memory diving with them was finding a loggerhead tucked into a cleaning station near Fowl Cay. We spent a good ten minutes just watching it get buffed, finning gently to stay in place, and the Pura Vida crew just let us be, no rush to move on. They also know the local conditions inside out. Listen to their advice on tides and currents, especially around the cut; it’ll make all the difference to your dive. They’re PADI 5 Star CDC, so the instruction is top-notch if you're looking to advance your certs, but we think their real strength is in guiding experienced divers to some of Abaco’s quieter, more magical spots. They’re perfect for divers who appreciate a friendly, professional crew and want to feel like they’re diving with mates, not just a dive shop.
