With 449+ marine species recorded in the area - including barracuda, blacktip reef sharks, dolphins, dwarf minke whales and eagle rays - RIO NEGRO offers some of Virgin Gorda & Anegada's richest wreck diving. Water ranges 27-30°C, warmest August, September, October.
The Rio Negro, sitting in just 2m of water off Anegada, is a classic shipwreck. It’s shallow enough for snorkelers to enjoy, but divers will appreciate a closer look at the structure and the creatures making it home. You'll find plenty of small reef fish darting through the remains, and often a nurse shark or two tucked into the deeper sections. It’s an easy, interesting dive for anyone looking for a relaxed exploration.
