Pat’s Wall - Grand Cayman

Scorpion Rock, just east of Praslin, is one of those sites that just feels solid. It’s a huge granite boulder, a true landmark sticking out above the water at low tide. We often find the visibility here can hit 20 metres, making the entire structure really pop. The reef itself isn't what we’d call a classic coral garden; it's more about the crevices and the life packed into them. We love the sheer amount of fish. The schools of giant trevally are a real highlight, sometimes circling you so close you can hear their fin beats. Look carefully, and you’ll spot everything from Flameback Angelfish darting between the rocks to the more subtle Crested Sabretooth Blenny peeking out. We’ve had some fantastic encounters with whitetip sharks cruising by in the deeper sections, and even a few grey reef sharks have made an appearance. The max depth of 18m makes it super accessible, but there’s enough going on that even experienced divers will find themselves lingering. It's a great site for seeing the bigger stuff, but also for those patient enough to find the smaller, more unusual reef residents.
