Pro Dive International Catalonia Bayahibe - Punta Cana
The team at Pro Dive International Catalonia Bayahibe are our go-to for diving in the Punta Cana area, particularly if you're looking to push your training further. As a PADI 5 Star IDC Resort, they’ve got the full spectrum of courses, right up to Instructor Development. We love how smoothly they handle the logistics, from resort pick-ups to getting you geared up without fuss. Our favourite dives from their boats head towards the Bayahibe side, especially the *St. George* wreck. Dropping onto that freighter at around 30 metres, seeing the barracuda patrol its decks, feels properly adventurous. Visibility often hits 20-25 metres there, especially if you hit the morning slot before the currents pick up too much. For something shallower, the coral patches around Catalina Island are fantastic for longer bottom times. We've spent many an hour drifting past schools of surgeonfish and watching parrotfish chomp on the reef. It’s not always wall-to-wall pelagics, but the macro life is rich, and the water is bath-warm. A tip: ask about their early morning trips; the calmer seas and fewer boats make a big difference.
