With 250+ marine species recorded in the area - including barracuda, humpback whales, nurse sharks, orcas and sea turtles - SNS EXPRESS offers some of Punta Cana's richest wreck diving. Water ranges 27-30°C, warmest September, October, November.
The SNS Express is a motor vessel that went down in 1986, just a short run from the shore in Punta Cana. We’ve found her sitting upright, largely intact, with her bow often just breaking the surface. She’s a decent sized wreck at 39 meters long, and with her shallow depth, she’s a great spot for newer wreck divers or those looking for a relaxed second dive. You can swim through the cargo holds and explore the bridge area, where schools of snapper and grunt often hang out. Keep an eye out for moray eels tucked into the crevices; they love the shelter the old Express provides.
Safety Notes
Wreck site - avoid penetration without wreck diving certification. Watch for sharp metal and entanglement hazards.
