Le Jardin de Corail - Cousteau Reserve

Le Jardin de Corail, or the Coral Garden, is one of those sites in Cousteau Reserve that just feels right from the moment you drop in. It's a relatively shallow, gentle drift, perfect for stretching out a dive and really taking your time. We love drifting over the expansive brain coral formations, the gentle undulations creating little valleys where parrotfish graze, their crunching audible if you pause for a moment. Keep an eye out for the smaller stuff here; the reef bass and hind often blend perfectly with the coral, and we've spotted cowfish shyly peeking from behind gorgonians. Our favourite part has to be the light filtering through the clear water, illuminating the soft corals in a way that truly brings the garden to life. Visibility usually holds up really well, making it a great spot for photographers or anyone wanting a relaxed, vibrant experience.
