LIAMUIGA - St. Kitts

Liamuiga isn't your typical Caribbean wreck dive. Forget deep, dark penetration. This is an almost entirely exposed wreck, right on the edge of Basseterre, and that’s precisely what makes it fascinating. We love how the hull plates, now rusted and broken, barely breach the surface, creating this incredible shallow-water habitat. When the swell is calm, you can literally fin along the surface and look down into the engine room, or what’s left of it. Sunlight pours through the gaps where the deck has collapsed, illuminating schools of juvenile snapper that dart between the twisted metal. Our favourite spot is usually around the bow, where the ribs of the hull act like a natural breakwater, attracting parrotfish and trumpetfish. It’s perfect for snorkelers or new divers getting comfortable with wrecks, offering a unique, sun-drenched glimpse into maritime history without the depth. Just be mindful of boat traffic sometimes.
