TRADERS CHOICE - Tobago

Traders Choice sits just off the shore, a schooner sunk during rough seas way back in '75. It’s shallow, real shallow, only ever touching 3 metres, so we love it for a long, easy dive or even a snorkel if you’re just passing by. You’re not getting deep here, but the light plays beautifully across the structure, highlighting the rust reds and greens. We've seen schools of juvenile snapper darting through the broken timbers, and the odd barracuda likes to hang out just off the bow, eyeing up the smaller fish. It’s a fantastic spot for photographers, especially macro enthusiasts. The encrusting sponges and small anemones that have taken hold offer plenty of subjects. We'd suggest going early morning before the sun gets too high; the ambient light really brings out the wreck's character without blowing out your shots. It's a relaxed dive, no strong currents to worry about, just a chill exploration of a piece of local history, completely overtaken by the reef.
