Why dive here
With 168+ marine species recorded in the area - including barracuda, orcas, sea turtles, whale sharks and pufferfish - Black Hills offers some of Roatán's richest diving. Water ranges 27-30°C, warmest August, September, October.
Black Hills sits off Roatán's south side, a sloping reef that often catches a decent current. We've found the drift here can be exhilarating, pushing you past schools of snapper and barracuda. It's a site best enjoyed by experienced divers comfortable with moving water, offering chances to spot eagle rays cruising the deeper sections. If you like a dynamic dive, this one delivers.
