Canyon Reef - Roatán

The Fiona wreck offers a proper Grenada experience, though it’s technically two wrecks, with the fishing boat Fiona and a smaller barge resting on the sandy bottom. We find ourselves drawn to Fiona first, its deck at a friendly 17 metres. Grunts and angelfish are usually thick around the superstructure, a real comfort. While the wreck itself is small enough to explore thoroughly in one dive, the real delight for us is what calls it home. We’ve seen seahorses here often, tucked into crevices, and our dive guides are always pointing out frogfish camouflaged against the rust. We love exploring the sandy patches between the two vessels, where the light plays differently. It’s a good spot for critters; we've found pipefish clinging to stray bits of coral and the occasional planehead filefish blending in with the sand. Visibility is usually decent, around 17 metres, making it an easy site to navigate. Our pick for a relaxed afternoon dive, especially if you’re keen on photography and taking your time to spot the smaller stuff. It’s also a perfect training ground for newer wreck divers, shallow and calm.
