Why dive here
With 168+ marine species recorded in the area - including barracuda, orcas, sea turtles, whale sharks and pufferfish - Ironshore offers some of Roatán's richest diving. Water ranges 27-30°C, warmest August, September, October.
Ironshore is a good pick for divers who enjoy exploring interesting topography. The site has plenty of swim-throughs and small caverns cutting through the reef, home to nurse sharks and the occasional green moray. It’s a solid option when you want something a bit more interactive than a straight wall dive, best suited for those comfortable navigating tight spaces.
