Land of the Giants - Roatán

Nanas Reef is a solid afternoon dive, about 20 minutes from Nabucco Spice Island. It’s an isolated patch of coral in a sheltered bay, which means currents are usually pretty mellow, making it a good spot if you’re still building confidence. We’ve found the visibility here to be consistently good, often around 20-25 metres, letting you really appreciate the details. Keep an eye out for the smaller stuff – we’ve spotted Blackbelly Pygmygobies tucked into the coral, and Largemouth Triplefins often darting around. You’ll also usually see groups of batfish hanging out, and we’ve even had a few passing blacktip reef sharks cruise by. It’s a pleasant dive, not a massive adrenaline rush, but always interesting.
