Spotted Bay - Roatán

The Twin Barges site, just a short hop from Beau Vallon, is our pick for a relaxed wreck dive with surprising character. We love how these two old workhorses, lying close enough you can almost fin between them, have become completely absorbed by the reef. The deeper barge, down at 22m, has a slightly more brooding feel, while the shallower one at 19m often catches more light. Forget gleaming metal; these wrecks are now encrusted, offering countless nooks for life to hide. We’ve spotted Mozambique mouth-breeders peeking out from shadows, and if you have a good eye, you might even find a roughridge pipefish camouflaged against the rust. Schools of glassy perchlets shimmer around the structures, creating a living curtain. Keep an eye out for patrolling golden trevally and the occasional halfmoon triggerfish darting by. This spot is perfect for divers who enjoy a slower pace, keen to explore every crevice and appreciate the blend of history and marine growth. The current can pick up here, so be ready for a drift, but that often brings in bigger fish.
