With 382+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, eagle rays, giant moray eels, humpback whales and sperm whales - Black Magic Mountain offers some of Kadavu & Great Astrolabe Reef's richest pinnacle diving.
Black Magic Mountain is a decent Kadavu pinnacle. We drop onto the top at around 24 meters, where the coral growth is pretty established. You'll often find schooling fusiliers here, sometimes so many they just hang like a living curtain. It’s a good spot for intermediate divers looking for a relaxed drift around a single structure, with a decent chance of seeing some reef sharks cruising the edges. While not the most dramatic site in the Astrolabe, it’s a solid dive for an afternoon.
