With 382+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, eagle rays, giant moray eels, humpback whales and sperm whales - Cannibal’s Cave offers some of Kadavu & Great Astrolabe Reef's richest cave diving.
Cannibal’s Cave is a good spot if you’re looking for a relaxed cave dive without the chills. It’s more of an overhang really, a deep cut into the reef that lets you swim right in. At about 20 meters, you’ll find plenty of space to explore with natural light still reaching most corners, so it never feels too enclosed. We’ve often seen schooling bannerfish here, sometimes a whitetip reef shark cruising the entrance, and the occasional turtle resting on the sandy bottom inside. It’s genuinely suitable for beginners who want to try something a bit different, offering a calm, sheltered dive.
