Coral Gardens - Kadavu & Great Astrolabe Reef

Every dive spot worth its salt seems to have a "Coral Gardens," and Kadavu's version is a pleasant, easy outing. We usually drop onto a flat sandy bottom at around 20 metres, where you’ll spot goatfish digging through the sand. From there, the reef slopes up gently, a series of shelves absolutely covered in hard and soft corals, lots of acropora and those cool mosaic corals. It's a nursery for anthias and damsels, and we often see small snapper darting through the coral branches. This is a perfect spot for newer divers, or anyone looking for a relaxed, colourful dive without any challenging currents.
