San Francisco Maru - Chuuk (Truk) Lagoon
The *San Francisco Maru* is one of Chuuk's poster wrecks for good reason. Descending, you first hit the deck around 45 metres, but it's the deeper cargo holds that really draw you in. We’re talking about a tank, trucks, even anti-aircraft guns still in place, covered in a beautiful layer of soft corals and sponges. It’s a deep dive, making it best suited for experienced wreck divers comfortable with deco, but the rewards are huge. Schools of snapper often hover around the superstructure, and if you’re looking closely, you’ll spot nudibranchs making a home on the decaying metal.
