Shinkoku Maru - Chuuk (Truk) Lagoon
Diving the Shinkoku Maru in Chuuk Lagoon, you really get a sense of history frozen in time. This oiler lies on its port side, pretty intact, offering plenty to explore for recreational wreck divers. We’ve poked around the engine room, seen the giant props, and even spotted the ship’s operating theatre – it's eerie how well preserved some areas are. Outside, the superstructure hosts a surprising amount of soft coral, and we often find green sea turtles resting on the deck or cruising past the bridge. It’s a compelling dive, best suited for those comfortable navigating interiors and appreciative of how nature reclaims these sunken giants.
