Lissenung Resort in Papua New Guinea has always been one of our picks for serious divers. They hit the sweet spot with a mix of sites: we’re talking everything from a wall dive that drops into the abyss to those really unusual muck dives where you’re guaranteed to find something bizarre. The wreck diving here is also excellent; the Japanese Zeroes are particularly poignant. Beyond the diving, we appreciate their turtle conservation work, especially if you’re visiting between September and March. It’s a solid choice for divers who want variety and don't mind a slightly more remote feel.
