With 428+ marine species recorded in the area - including bull sharks, manta rays, mobula rays (devil rays), seahorses and sea turtles - Kuroshima Nakamoto Cave offers some of Ishigaki & Yaeyama's richest cave diving. Water ranges 23-30°C, warmest July, August, September.
Kuroshima Nakamoto Cave is a solid intermediate dive, peaking at 18 meters. You’ll find some striking light penetration here, especially on sunny days as shafts illuminate the cavern’s interior. It’s a good spot for divers comfortable with overhead environments, looking for a scenic, relaxed dive rather than big pelagics. We’d recommend it for photographers keen on dramatic lighting.
