With 428+ marine species recorded in the area - including bull sharks, manta rays, mobula rays (devil rays), seahorses and sea turtles - Osaki Hanagoi Reef offers some of Ishigaki & Yaeyama's richest reef diving. Water ranges 23-30°C, warmest July, August, September.
Osaki Hanagoi Reef is a gentle slope ideal for newer divers. We find a good variety of smaller reef fish here, particularly the colourful anthias that give the site its name, flitting between the corals. It’s a relaxed dive, usually with minimal current, allowing plenty of time to explore the crevices and watch the resident marine life.
